Compact camera hack: bright lights for super-macro

Compact camera hack: bright lights for super-macro
Loudon, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, USA
January 20, 2012
Size: N/A
One of the 300-lumen CREE chips removed from a headlamp. I trimmed away as much of the aluminum plate as I could to save space. The CREE LED chips do produce waste heat and I figure the aluminum plate helps with dissipation, but since I will only hold down the switch button for a few seconds at a time there should be little chance of ruinous heat buildup.
