Not great image... Found under the fallen leaf in grassy area.
Shelter made with frass and silk? I didn't look well and I'm not sure if there was something inside...

Cocoon
I think it is probably a cocoon of some kind of moth. Not sure what kind--the frass-covered cocoons I've seen have always been tough and completely covered with frass. How big was it?

Maybe 10-15mm? I tried to find it again today, but my memory isn't clear enough and I couldn't...
