After looking through some of the images for spiders, Araneus marmoreus looks like a match. I found another nearby that I identified as A. marmoreus, but it looked quite different.

Maybe the difference is gender.
This is a male Araneus marmoreus. You can see how variable the species is by looking at the numerous images on the Info page for the species.

I figured the difference would be gender, since that's pretty common in spiders, but I didn't see enough information on the Guide to say for sure. It's definitely a variable species, that surprised me. A beautiful spider, at any rate.
