While a lateral view would be nice, this sure looks like a relatively recent introduction to the US (Florida) from South America, which I confirmed for the Florida State Department of Agriculture about a year ago.

Thanks for the quick ID. My UV setup doesn't have the "bugs" worked out yet. With the small size of this beetle, I couldn't get a lateral shot.
