Suspect Grapeleaf Skeletonizer Cocoons

Suspect Grapeleaf Skeletonizer Cocoons
Tampa, Hillsbrough County, Florida, USA
February 1, 2012
Size: 1/4"
Noticed during yard work next to bushes the larva have been spotted on.
Looking for confirmation on Harrisina americana if possible please.

Moved
Moved from ID Request.
These are made by a hunting spider rather than a web-spinning spider. They're very common on the sides of buildings; sooner or later someone will figure out what they are. Harrisina cocoons would be oval, not circular.
Actually, the one that the house spider is hugging (which is not a house spider egg sac) does look like it could be the same as these.

I sometimes
get them with the spiders I raise.

spider
something like this I'd think

Yes
Spiders, but not those.

right
just similar..i looked for coccons of the skeletonizer amazed we dont have any. i suppose they would look like a tiger moth coccon..similar.

Thanks
I couldn't locate in the guide, but read the cocoons to be hard, white, and flat... hence my guess. Frass at will.

this year
capture a few caterpillers in a container rear them and give us a good picture of coccons.. hows that sound?

Good idea
I have been presented with a challenge! Will see what I can discover concerning the hunting spider as well.
