Trixagus chevrolati
This appears to be Trixagus chevrolati. I'm operating via black-berry but I can't see the metasternal groove characteristic of Aulonothroscus. Trixagus spp can also have a groove (contrary to the way it is worded in some literature) and its the direction and depth of groove (not presence or absence) that determines genus.

Also, this specimen seems to be wider mid-way along elytra, a characteristic of chevrolati. I also think I see lateral bristles, but again I'm operating via blackberry now.

I can re-examine later when I have access to monitor.

Better photos?
If additional/better photos are needed of a certain character I could provide them.

not necessary
I can see this critter on the monitor now and I believe it is Trixagus chevrolati as originally suspected. Thanks.
