Size: ~5mm
I find these very small insects eating the leaves of my cucumber plants. I never appreciated their structure until taking this very close-up photo. Would love to know what it is.

So this is a ladybug larvae? Are you saying this particular species (squash lady bug) had not been ID'ed in VA before?
