he must have attached himself to his creek mate. As for his place in Ephemeroptera, I thought he could be a spiny crawler, but, living in AZ, I have forgotten all the limnology I ever knew

Yes, this is surely Camelobaetidius. As both C. kickapoo and C. warreni are present in AZ, am placing it in the guide at genus level for now.
