Cissites auriculata

Cissites auriculata
Weslaco, Hidalgo County, Texas, USA
March 14, 2012
Size: about 4 cm
This Big-eared Blister Beetle (Cissites auriculata) was attending the hole of a carpenter bee in the dead Ficus in my backyard in Weslaco. It's now been in the same spot for three days. Seems to be darker on the head and neck than the other specimen photographs.
