Argyrodes. elevatus or nephilidae? - Argyrodes - Female
Sarasota, Sarasota County, Florida, USA
March 16, 2012
Size: 3mm
March datapoint for an Argyrodes. How do you tell elevatus apart from nephilidae? I can capture and get more detailed photos if needed. The female in this photo and a male were a few cm apart, hanging upside down in the web of Tropical Tent Weaver (Cyrtophora citricola). The invasive Tropical Tent Weaver has become one of the most common spiders in our area in the past couple of years.
