Handsome fungus beetle larvae - Endomychus biguttatus

Handsome fungus beetle larvae - Endomychus biguttatus
Just outside of Comer, Oglethorpe County, Georgia, USA
March 2, 2012
These look like lampyrid larvae to me, but they're only a couple of millimeters long. On a small shelf fungus.

Moved from ID Request.

Endomychidae, i guess
will ask Dr Shockley to take a look

he did, and so pronounced:
"Just based on the fungus (Schizophyllum commune), I could tell you that it was Endomychus biguttatus. The pictures of the larvae just confirm it."

Thank you so much, V.
All your help is most appreciated.

pleasure is all mine, Carmen:
what makes me happy is your consistent effort looking for interesting bugs where they hide, rather than simply shooting those in plain sight. your catch is well worth my time, and i don't hesitate bothering others for names, too.
