Hemileuca grotei too? - Hemileuca grotei

Hemileuca grotei too? - Hemileuca grotei
Blanco, Blanco County, Texas, USA
March 30, 2012
I recently posted an image of a spiny caterpillar, which was IDed here as Hemileuca grotei. Today I spotted a similar caterpillar on a wooden arbor. Its spines are orange, not yellow like the Hemileuca grotei had. Same genus, different species?

Looks like it...
Moved from ID Request.

Once again based on the red coloration between segments. Hemileuca peigleri is the only other Hemileuca sp. I would expect from Blanco County. Although the orange spines are reminiscent of H. peigleri in the guide, I have not seen the red intersegment coloration in peigleri (at least in the images I have seen).

Thank you!!
I post these images on my blog and ALWAYS credit you experts at Bugguide.net whenever you ID specimens for me.
