Gryllus species
Probably
G. texensis
. Looks too "fuzzy" for
G. veletis
, which may not be that far south anyway. I can't think of any other spring maturing species that would "fit" in your area, but there could be some (perhaps
G. fultoni
, if it's a wooded area).
