Callisthenes (Chryostigma) semilaevis (LeConte)
based on my microscopic examination of this specimen which is now a photo-voucher in the P.W.Messer collection. Thanks much Robyn for this species new to my reference collection AND new to BugGuide!

Type locality for this western species happens to be San Diego, CA. See images of the type specimen. Separated by others in subgenus by the elytra without foveae (large punctures) and with luster quite dull from irregular microsculpture. Ref. Gidaspow (1959):271.
