Bee Fly - Thevenetimyia luctifera

Bee Fly - Thevenetimyia luctifera
near Quincy, Plumas County, California, USA

Thanks
It sounds like you know your Bombyliidae! I just wanted the id to be from a good source before moving it to a new page.

ID
I think this is the golden pilose T. luctifera.

T. luctifera?
I couldn't find any pictures online to compare. It doesn't sound like you're positive about the id, so I'll leave it at genus level for now, and hopefully the species can be confirmed.
Are you a dipterist? I didn't see anything in your bugguide bio.
Thanks for the help.

Creds
Hi,
I guess you would say I am an avid amateur dipterist. I am about done with a revision of the US species of Exoprosopa (Diptera: Bombyliidae), but have so far published only one description, that of Poecilanthrax brachypus, from Santa Barbara, CA. I have built a collection of some 16,000 Bombyliidae from western North America.

Regarding the Thev ID, I would say I am 80-90% confident.
