Cratypedes lateritius ?
This looks like Cratypedes lateritius to me, but in Plumas County it could also be Agymnastes venerabilis. I'm not familiar enough with Agymnastes species to tell from this photo. The inner face of the hind femur on Agymnastes would be blue-black with one pale cross band near the end, and on C. lateritius it would be likely lighter, maybe black, but with two pale cross bands. Since I can't seen this, I can't be sure. Did you see the wing color? If orange or red, it is probably C. lateritius, but if yellow, it could be either one. If they are that similar, one might ask why in different genera? I'm not sure, but the females look more different.

David,
I'm thinking the wing color was orange/red, but I can't be sure what I saw over a year ago.
