Montana Six-plume Moth - Alucita montana

Montana Six-plume Moth - Alucita montana
Lassen County, California, USA
September 5, 2011
Size: Forewing length 6.5mm
An interesting little moth! Puts CA on the data map.

Creeping Snowberry (Symphoricarpos mollis), a host plant for this species, is common in the nearby woods.

What do they look like in flight?
Just curious, do they look like a normal moth or...?

What do they look like in flight?
They look like a normal looking "little" moth in flight, both around the porch light, and in the plastic photo chamber - where this photo was taken. This one was quite active within the cold of the fridge, where I put my bugs to calm them down. It took me over two weeks of trying with the camera before it settled down long enough for me to snap this photo.
