The woods was full of Enoplognatha - Enoplognatha ovata - Female
Harms Woods Forest Preserve, Glenview, Cook County, Illinois, USA
June 15, 2006
Size: ~5mm
We find these beautiful spiders almost every time we hike this oak hickory woodland, hiding under leaves whick they pull together with their silk. They seem to come in a variety of colors, this one having pink stripes with large black spots.

Looks to be
the remains of an ant with a kleptoparasitic fly sneaking in for a meal.

Beautiful spider !
What's up with the spider (remains) in the top left of the photo ?
A previous meal ?
