Unknown Orb weaver? - Argiope florida
Ocala National Forest, Florida, USA
April 16, 2012
Size: very small
Found in Florida scrub in Ocala National Forest in web that was built in a small prickly pear cactus...I suspect that it is an orb weaver and I'd like to know what species it is.

Argiope florida
Yes a juvenile. Nice find.

Moved from ID Request.

A. argentata v A. florida juveniles
Without a look at the ventral side, how can A. florida and A. argentata juveniles be distinguished? As an example, https://bugguide.net/node/view/736049
Thank you.

Maybe the Florida Argiope (Argiope florida)?

Hold on to see if the spider specialists agree.
