Spider Identification Guide: A pictorial guide to the conspicuous spiders of Orange County, California
Leonard Vincent, Professor, Fullerton College, writes:

"This guide is designed to serve my Biology of Insects and Spiders students as well as Orange County naturalists and residents. It is formatted as a ladder to direct the observer in the determination of the identity of spiders based on the habitat and web structure. These characteristics lead the observer to a page of thumbnail photos and then to a page of macro-photos of the particular spider."

Very nice, accurate website by arachnologist Robb Bennett. Includes a 2010 species checklist for British Columbia and many other goodies (such as a decent-sized photo gallery and collection maps, etc).
