We still have patchy snow on the ground and it's still pretty cold, but I thought I would check the compost bin as that always seems to have something crawling around in it this early in the season up here.

where i grew up, a couple of Glischrochilus spp. +
+ several other nits, histerids, etc. are all members of the birch sap community, and therefore show up very early in the season
