Eggs hatching - Harmonia axyridis

Eggs hatching - Harmonia axyridis
Julie Metz Wetlands, Prince William County, Virginia, USA
April 19, 2012
Size: small
The eggs were on the underside of a box elder leaf. Are these caterpillars?

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

Nobody Frass this, please, no matter how many H. axyridis images we have. It's THE best lady beetle egg hatch photo I've seen, and also clearly shows that the distinctive double-branched spines of H. axyridis are present at egg hatch. (This may be the only lady beetle in North America that can be positively ID'd to species before it's out of the egg!)

Thanks
Abigail, thanks very much for the identification.

Lady beetles - Harmonia axyridis
These are the eggs/larvae of the Multicolored Asian Lady Beetle. They'll eat the insect pests on your plants!

I think
Coccinellidae (Lady Beetles), maybe Harmonia axyridis (Multicolored Asian Lady Beetle)
