Spider Wasp & Smaller Evagetes Wasp - Episyron quinquenotatus - Female
Essex, Ontario, Canada
July 11, 2006
Size: 12 & 8 mm
The Evagetes (smaller wasp) will sit and watch the Spider Wasp dig holes. Often it will hide under twigs. Spends a lot of time walking on the ground and usually flies only if a paralyzed spider is present. If the Episyron sees this wasp, it will jump at it to chase it away.
