From St. Francis Sunken Lands at MV light. I looked at the 3 genera of Throscidae in BG, but couldn't figure out which one fits.

Looks like the metasternal tarsal groove is shallow and directed parallel under the mesocoxa (although that darn middle left leg is positioned just enough to be in the way of an accurate view-LOL).

Probably T. chevrolati. They elytra are widest at middle and appears to have laterally directed setae along the apical third of the elytra. I can check Yensen's revision later tonight or tomorrow when I am home to see what the other options are, if there are any, for AR.

Blaine, thanks! I knew that the ventral view was important; and my biggest challenge with the MP-E 65 and twin light flash is to direct light there, but not create obscuring glare spots.

I'm still finding interesting beetles to identify from last summer's Arkansas swamp collecting venture.
