The wasp in the background was some distance removed from the robberfly, not necessarily its prey.

"Hanging Thief" Robber fly
This is a species of Diogmites, sometimes called the "hanging thieves" because they suspend themselves from one pair of legs while maneuvering their prey during feeding. Neat bug:-)

Thanks! Looking into this a little further, it looks to be either D. neoternatus or D. misellus; photos on the web for the two species look very similar, so that's probably as close as I'll get to IDing it.
