Host species is good but color is not what I expect to see. However, cats often change color to match the substrate, and this one is camouflaged well. I suspect M. spodia, and no other Meganola has that form as far as I know.

It has an Acronicta look to it, doesn't it?
If it were out east we might suggest A.hasta or A.laetifica, but...
The early instars are tough
