Lytrosis unitaria ? - Lytrosis unitaria
Fannin County, Texas, USA
April 30, 2012
I was impressed by the size of this moth, easily being 3x larger than any Zale I've seen. Found on exterior wall near lighting. Mostly oak in immediate vicinity. A positive ID would be greatly appreciated.

Interesting
I've never seen #6720 here in TX, but the MPG website does show it popping up in nearby states, especially in May. It may be moving a bit west this year. Does look a bit like a Zale. The size must be impressive.

Thank you for taking the time
Thank you for taking the time to respond. That is the kind of info I really appreciate. I've never seen one like it before around here and was curious about its range.

I got one of these in April too!

They are one of my favorites.
