Eyed Click Beetle - Alaus oculatus

Eyed Click Beetle - Alaus oculatus
Durham County, North Carolina, USA
July 16, 2003
This individual was hanging out under a cultivated Abelia bush, heavy with flowers. I suspect it might have been after nectar, but never saw it take any.
