Kentucky Tarantula - Tigrosa georgicola

Kentucky Tarantula - Tigrosa georgicola
Mammoth Cave National Park, Kentucky, USA
April 28, 2012
This very large wolf spider was just off a hiking trail in a deciduous forest. I suspect it is a Hogna but I was hoping to get a species ID if possible.

Moved from Tigrosa aspersa.
We didn't know what Tigrosa georgicola looked like when this was submitted. The full stripe on the carapace indicates this is more likely T. georgicola.

Moved from ID Request.

Hogna aspersa
Large wolf spider common in the eastern U.S. When not wandering about it spends it time in a burrow.
