Bombus - Bombus melanopygus

Bombus - Bombus melanopygus
Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon, USA
May 25, 2010
I am guessing from what I have been told are common species here that this is either Bombus melanopygus or Bombus huntii... But I really don't know and don't know how to tell those two apart and don't know whether this is a worker or queen. (From time of year, alone, I'd veto it being a male.) (I have also looked at Discover Life site but only succeeded in confusing myself.)

(Yes, I hibernate in winter and come back spring :-)
