You might not be able to tell from this picture, but this fly has a checkered abdomen (white and black squares).

Nice image of a flesh fly, family Sarcophagidae, genus Sarcophaga.

Thanks. I don't usually like flies, but this one had such an interesting pattern that I just had to photograph it. :)
