CATERPILLAR ON WIRE FENCE - Amphipyra pyramidoides

CATERPILLAR ON WIRE FENCE - Amphipyra pyramidoides
Greenville, Providence County, Rhode Island, USA
May 14, 2012
Size: ~¾ "
Found this moving along a portion of green wire fence in my yard. It was larger than an inchworm and MUCH SMALLER than a Sphinx Moth caterpillar or a similarly large caterpillar of another species. Posterior is largest (in width) when compared to head. Reminds me of a Sphinx Moth Caterpillar, but MUCH SMALLER.
Photo 3. is a wider view.
