Acanalonia? - Metcalfa pruinosa

Acanalonia? - Metcalfa pruinosa
Harms Woods Forest Preserve, Glenview, Cook County, Illinois, USA
July 6, 2006
Size: ~3mm
The next day, across the road at Harms Woods, we found them on Basswood, Tilia americana. This nymph has horns and ridges, and what are the white ones? Are they even younger Acanalonia?

Ah! We read in the guide
that the white ones might be Metcalfa. So today when we were out, we searched for stems with that waxy buildup, and sure enough, we found adult Matcalfa. Images will be posted later.
