Anglewing butterfly - species uncertain - Polygonia comma

Anglewing butterfly - species uncertain - Polygonia comma
Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
May 8, 2012
I photographed this fellow at the local park on the evening of May 8th. There were several of these hanging around with some Red Admirals. I believe it to be either a Comma (Polygonia comma), a Green Comma (Polygonia faunus) or a Satyr Anglewing (Polygonia satyrus). My bet is the Satyr as the sighting date is a good week earlier than the earliest recorded Manitoba sightings for the commas according to "The Buterflies of Manitoba" by Klassen et al, but well within the dates given for the Satyr. It has, however, been an unusally warm and early spring here in Winnipeg this year. This individual is quite worn from the winter and unfortunately I didn't get a look at the underside of the wing. Any comment or discussion is appreciated.

It is Polygonia comma
Since these overwinter as adults (all Polygonia do), an early date doesn't mean too much. They can (and sometimes do) come out and fly around on warm days in the middle of the winter.

Moved from ID Request.

Thank you!
Thanks, David. Much appreciated.
