Lots going on in this picture. When I took it, I didn't even notice what I'm guessing is a Syrphid fly!

Aphid eater
Yes, it is a syrphid larva, definitely in the tribe Syrphini. Perhaps, we'll never get an ID beyond that for many larvae quite similar to yours. The only ones we end up being sure of are the ones we raise to adults. I have managed to raise a few that were IDed as
Syrphus
and
Eupeodes
. It is curious how the ants neglect these wolves devouring their cattle. I have seen them walking all over the larvae in total indifference.
