Hamataliwa grisea - Female
Orange County, Florida, USA
Size: BL 9mm
A female with a recently captured moth (and an example of their typical nocturnal hunting strategy - hang from a silk line and wait for a moth).

It would be interesting to know if they just wait for a moth or other flying insect to happen to fly within grabbing range, or if they attract moth's as a result of their 'smell'.

Their excellent eyesight and quick movements make these lynx's proficient diurnal 'sit and wait' hunters as well.
