Size: 17 mm
This is the most common species of Rhyacophila in the east; there are more that 100 species nationwide. This one is from the Moose River. Telltale characteristics are the wing shape, the arrangement of the mouth parts, the number of spurs on the front legs and the distintive patterning of the wings.
