Identification
Legs generally pale, tarsi darkened towards tips. Male of some species with fifth segment of fore tarsi enlarged, white, white-tipped, or divided into two lobes. Alternatively, humeri yellow rather than metallic.
Remarks
Dolichopus funditor and distinctus have been treated as synonyms. Males differ in hair on hind femur, length of third antennal segment, and proportions of last segments of fore tarsi. Females may not be distinguishable.
