Skeletonizing beetle larvae - Ophraella Life Cycle - Ophraella conferta

Size: ? 2mm +/-
Collected these eggs on goldenrod, thinking they might be lady beetles.

Since they are possibly some type of Chrysomelidae, I'll try to raise a couple for a while to see how they turn out.

I would guess Chrysomelidae too
Lady beetle eggs are also more pointy, almost football-shaped, not rounded like these. I have been fooled by some chrysomelids myself, though!

I don't think lady beetle larvae skeletonize leaves (except Epilachninae)...

...looks like there aren't many instar photos for Chrysomelidae, so I'll try to follow a couple of these for awhile.
