I want this to be A. orentalis - Anomala

I want this to be A. orentalis - Anomala
Middleburg, Clay County, Florida, USA
June 3, 2012
Size: 8.2 mm
I have tried keying this with Potts revision but not doing so well...I know it is a strech for it to be an A. orientalis but I believe they are moving South faster than expected.

NSRs...
people always want the specimen to be the spreading introduced species when it's a first...but then after a few years when it's displaced your local fauna, you will curse it...LOL

I agree with Brad's comments below but the gestalt doesn't grab me for orientalis. Harpootlian's key may not include Florida endemics (can't think of any off hand, but his key is a good place to start...).

Gestalt...
Is this the word of the day.....

Gestalt: a structure, arrangement, or pattern of physical, biological, or psychological phenomena so integrated as to constitute a functional unit with properties not derivable by summation of its parts

Two Dollar, Fifty cent!

Anomala sp.
Moved from Beetles. Have you tried using Philip's key: (1) .. these guys can be confusing due to variability in color patterns.
