Little Orange Spider - Gea heptagon

Little Orange Spider - Gea heptagon
Hartsville, Lee County, South Carolina, USA
July 17, 2006
Size: 1/4 inch
This little guy/gal was dangling from the doorknob in full sun when I came home that afternoon. Overall shape suggests an Argiope or Cross spider, though at first I thought it was a crab spider due to the size and bright coloration.

Sharon McKenzie

Reminds us of
A male Gea heptagon. See . We suggest moving this image of the two into the guide and moving the other of the two to frass.
