Size: 3-4" long
This strange creature was formidable. I kept my distance and used my zoom lens.

Harmless
My 7 year old son and I have 3 eyed click beetles as "pets" - they are cool even though they don't do much. They suck the juices from fruit that we feed them. They really seem to like strawberries.
