Is this a white fly? If so, what kind, please? If not, what is it?

Thanks,
John, I appreciate that ID. Since I caught it in mid-air in the wooded area of our small park where many plants are growing, we cannot determine its species, correct?

Looks like
a mayfly being attacked by some sort of fungus. Wait for the experts.

Thanks,
I appreciate that possibility. I have seen these critters flying around before, but this is the first one I ever caught.
