Found this critter clambering around in the long grass. I think this is a female in genus Tetragnatha. Quite a pair of fangs!

Tetragnatha versicolor?
Beautiful shots.

...
Thanks. I completely missed T. versicolor when I was looking through the Tetragnatha page!

How do go about telling T. versicolor from, say, T. elongata? I'm still very inexperienced and was trying to figure it out just now from the images on their respective pages. I noticed the ventral markings and coloration looked more similar with T. versicolour, but there seems to be a lot of variation so I'm not sure if this is reliable. The epigynum shape also looks like it matches with this:

T. elongata vs. T. versicolor
I've gone through this before... maybe even have comments somewhere, but here is my current explanation T. elongata has longer chelicerae, and a more humped abdomen. However, these are hard to see sometimes unless we have nice shots like yours.

Thanks
Thanks for the explanation. Subtle stuff!
