Spruce tree bugs
White Fox, Torch River, Saskatchewan, Canada
June 12, 2012
Size: less than 3 mm.
A late blooming spruce tree with a lot of ants and bugs on some of the branches.
Are these the cause or the result of a unhealthy tree.

Aphids
Thank you Ken. The small ~4mm ants have been replaced by black ~7mm ants, the aphids are mostly gone. The tree is still budding and may even grow an inch this year.
