Colephorid? - Argyresthia calliphanes

Size: ~ 8mm

Collected at a light at night. Very shiny and tends to adopt a head-standing position at rest. The shape (i.e. slender wings, which appear to be bent upwards when folded) is very similar to that of a Casebearer Moth (Colephoridae). What species might it be?

Change "Appears to be" (above) to "Close to"

Will raises a good question below, and one for which I really have no answer. When I compare the Vargo photo with one of Bronze Alder Moth shown at Strickland Entomological Museum's website I cannot see significant difference between the two species. And, there may be additional species in this large genus which are equally confusing. It might perhaps be best to refer to them all as Argyresthia sp., or to erect a species group for the look-alikes.
