Dragonfly showed this interesting display whenever I approached it from the front. Trying to scare me away perhaps? Photo taken at Ferson Creek Fen park.

Display is interesting
Was it hot there? I'm seeing odd behavior in dragon and damselflies here during our current scorcher. Example: Yesterday, a large dragon was pulling its abdomen up and under itself so the end was quite close to its face. And this while airborne! Oddly enough, I haven't seen obelisking, which is supposed to be typical in hot weather.

I did see a damselfly move its wings like yours, but it was a quick one-time motion I didn't capture. Figured it a fluke, but not so sure now. Oh, and I was directly in front of it when this happened.

Ron,

It was not particularly hot... about 80 degrees. Full sun.

We assumed these were two images
of the same individual and so we linked them for you. If they are actually images of two different individuals, could you unlink them again?

two images
Yes they are the same. I'll make sure that I link same photos in the future.

Thanks.

Bill
