Skipper - Poanes taxiles

Skipper - Poanes taxiles
Custer State Park, Little Devil's Tower Trail, Custer County, South Dakota, USA
July 21, 2006
Found flying along a FS road near moist meadows in the Black Hills. My best guess is either a Common branded skipper or a tawny edged skipper. Any hints on how to tell them apart since the Common branded skipper seems to have an enormous amount of variability?

The frosting on the underside and the dorsal markings are a good match for the female Taxiles.
