Antheraea polyphemus
Canton, Stark County, Ohio, USA
July 4, 2012
Size: size of adult thumb
I am thinking it is a cicada or locust. It was laying on my deck outside in 96
degee heat. We have a lot of trees also. It also is very light weight.

if you gently
place the pupa back in it and keep it in a shady shelterd place where predators cant get it you may end up with a beautiful silkmoth
