Segestria pacifica? - Segestria pacifica - male

Segestria pacifica? - Segestria pacifica - Male
Cowichan Valley, British Columbia, Canada
July 4, 2012
Size: ~8mm body length
Found wandering on the deck. Hoping this guy's a male Segestria pacifica to go along with the female I found earlier:

I'm pretty sure based on the eye arrangement and the fact the BC E-Fauna 2010 checklist shows no other Segestriids in BC.

Gorgeous images as always! This is such a great find & our first male for the guide. When first looking at the face shot I was disappointed because I couldn't see enlarged palps and thought it was a female... but definitely a male from those side shots!

You are correct you can ID these to species based on range.

Moved from Spiders.

Yay!
I really wanted to find one of the males. These spiders don't seem that common around here - so far, I've only seen the two I've posted.
